Bolivian Dove Hunting:
Bunganvillas.
This is a 5 star Hotel/Resort in the city of Santa Cruz. This is a place for those who love the night life of the city. We operate out of here from April to October. Drives are from one to two hours to the shooting fields, OR you can choose to take a 20 to 30 minute charter flight right into the shooting field. You would get up in the morning, have breakfast, either drive or fly to the shooting fields, have a gourmet lunch right in the field, hammock nap if you desire, shooting in the afternoon and then we come back to the city for dinner, sleep, or partying if you like. It is your vacation so you can enjoy it however you would like. We can handle large and small groups from this destination. Note. Choosing to fly makes this trip much more enjoyable.
The Rock
The Rock is our new high volume dove lodge. We had been looking for the last three years for a place to build a new dove lodge that would be in the perfect place. This lodge came up for sale and after looking at its location, we had to buy it. This lodge sits up on a high rock mountain overlooking thousands of acres of Sunflowers. This year we never had any drive over 15 minutes from the lodge to the shooting fields from this lodge and sometimes you could walk out the front door and down the hill to shoot. This area is surrounded by huge Brazilian farms that plant sorghum and sunflowers, a dove hunter's perfect place. Also there are Mennonite colonies close by that have crops plus wonderful waterholes that make for some excellent wingshooting.
This area also has some great pigeon shooting at times and when they are there we will take you out on a shoot or two. This lodge is a 3 hour drive from the city (note, will be closer next season when the bridge and new highway is put in) or you can choose to take a 45 minute charter flight to the lodges private airstrip. The Rock will hold up to 12 shooters. Some of the features are, wireless internet, big screen satellite T.V. Big Jacuzzi, pool table, great times, open bar, and a lot of shooting. Hacienda La Torkaza
( Torkaza is word the locals use for PIGEON) This lodge is an old working cattle Hacienda fixed up first class, down closer to the Paraguay border. We have been using this lodge for 2 consecutive seasons now. This is our Pigeon lodge from April 15th to the end of June. Drives to the field are 5 to 30 minutes. Roads are in good condition and we are hunting in Mennonite country. Lodge is air-conditioned, very comfortable with a feeling of stepping out in the country back in the good old days. We shoot decoyed pigeons over harvested corn and sorghum fields. There is also one of the best dove roosts in Bolivia 20 minutes from the lodge door for those interested in doing combo trips, or just shooting one of those famous South American dove roosts for an afternoon. This lodge is a 3 hour drive from Santa Cruz or we can take a 45 minute charter flight to the lodge's private airstrip. This lodge can hold up to 12 guests. Carving the wind of the Chaco, wings, in uncountable numbers, slice and slip earthward, wild Torkaza pigeons spill from the heavens in a rush towards the perfect set of your decoys… Gun at half mount in anticipation, you control yourself… just barely… these last few seconds… closer… closer… NOW !
