Tick Fork's history began back in the late 1800's. Natural tick dipping was performed for local farmers. The farmers would bring their livestock to the tick dipping hole. The hole was filled with water & medicine to remove the ticks. Livestock would go down the embankment and through the tick bath. When the livestock came out the other side, they would be tick free. The tick dipping was performed at a fork in the country roads of Alabama. The Tick Fork name has been with us ever since.
Tick Fork Preserve is hosted by Jason White & Heath Love. White Farms is a partnership with Ed & Bonnie White. Tick Fork Farm is an operational cattle & row crop farm. Recently Tick Fork Preserve LLC was formed to allow private hunting, fishing & lodging. Our guests can enjoy over 1,200 acres of private beautiful woodlands, lakes & countryside.
Maybe you'd like to wake up to one of Southern Alabama's great golden sunrises. You can see the sun burning through the morning lake fog and watch the deer leisurely strolling away in a nearby field. You might be getting ready for one of the best quail hunts in the country. You might be sipping your morning coffee as you take a stroll on your private dock to look down to see the Large Mouth Bass in the clear waters of your own private lake. If your deer hunting, from one of the wonderful blinds, as the light comes across the field you might be surprised at the number of bucks & does that you have to choose from. Your partner or family might just be waking up in one of the comfy king size beds with the plans of heading to a nearby attraction, like a great shopping mall, with plans of meeting back at your cabin to enjoy the evening sitting around the fireplace trading stories, playing cards or maybe a game of pool.

About the Modern Cabin
Our Modern Cabin has a lot of history. This cabin was originally built in the late 1800's on the farming land nearby. Recently the cabin was moved to its present location on the 20+ acre private lake. The cabin originally had two boarding rooms located on the front that were used by travelers looking for a place to stay. The cabin has been completely remodeled and updated. The cabin now has insulated windows, hardwood floors, a central heating & cooling system, all modern appliances including a dishwasher, clothes washer/dryer, flat screen TV, gaming system & more. The house still has a quaint feel to it with all of the modern amenities and an electric wood burning style stove that gives off a nice warm glow.
There is a King size bed in the Master Bedroom. There is also a single bed in the Master Bedroom. A Full size sleeper sofa is located in the living room. There is a single bed in the second bedroom. A modern bathroom features a full size bath tub shower enclosure. There is plenty of room for guest to eat around the large dining table or just a few at the bar/counter. A large screen room with rocking chairs has great lake views.
About the Lodge
Our Rustic Cabin/Lodge was built from trees that were knocked down from the winds of Hurricane Opal in 1995. The great pine trees were left in their natural state to give a rustic feeling to this large cabin/lodge. This is a great Lodge for anyone who wants to just get back to nature. The lodge features a large wood burning fireplace. There is also a full size pool table next to the leather couches. A large pine picnic style table will seat plenty in the dining room. A complete kitchen is here for you! This lodge features a King size bed in the Master Bedroom. There is a Full Size bed and a single bed located in the loft area that overlooks the living area. A bunkroom will sleep six comfortably. This lodge has a large screened room with rocking chairs that has a magnificent lake view!
