Westervelt Lodge
Westervelt Lodge has long been famous for the experience it offers its guests as they pursue their best trophies among the white-tailed deer and wild turkeys that roam its private 10,000 contiguous acres, and rates as some of the finest hunting in the country.
The hardwood bottomlands and pine ridges have been a stronghold for quality whitetails and wild turkeys since 1951. Westervelt Lodge lies along the scenic Tombigbee River in west central Alabama.
Thanks to decades of Westervelt’s professional wildlife and timber management, optimum wildlife levels have been have been attained and preserved to provide you with an outstanding, natural hunting experience…a true challenge in a fair-chase setting.
Your hunting trip to Westervelt Lodge will be remembered for its informally elegant accommodations and sumptuous Southern-style meals. Whether you’re entertaining customers, spending quality time with your family, attending a business conference, taking part in one of our renowned hunting schools, or just taking a well-earned vacation, you’ll find both relaxation and the thrill of the hunt at Westervelt Lodge.

Wingshooting
Wing shooting has been enjoyed for over a hundred years, but has recently seen a surge in popularity.
Offered at all of our lodges, our options include plantation quail, dove, grouse, woodcock, geese, continental pheasant, and duck.
Wing shooting hunts are fully guided with stylish bird dogs and our knowledgeable hunting guides. Hunting Parties of up to four guns can be accommodated and are transported in our fully stocked hunting vehicles. Two guns per party are allowed to hunt at one time, while the other two guns rest and spectate.
Scenic landscapes, fair challenge and blue skies make great hunting partners. This is an experience you’ll want to repeat as often as you can.
Turkey Hunting
The Spring turkey season lasts only one month in Alabama, so it is wildly popular amongst hunters of this game bird. Westervelt Lodge is a prime location for trophy quality toms, and offers hunters a unique opportunity to spend time deep in the woods, while enjoying the rustic, well-appointed lodge atmosphere.
From the early morning wake-up call and continental breakfast, through the morning hunt and subsequent proper breakfast, to evening hunts in either wooded areas or on food plots, turkey hunting at Westervelt Lodge is an exercise in both tradition and sportsmanship.
Turkey hunting requires extreme patience and skill, and no one knows this better than the guides at Westervelt Lodge. In fact, our Turkey Hunting School, held each April, is often booked several years in advance! Our guides are eager to help you bag a gobbler, and look forward to your visit.
Deer Hunting
