CLUB FACILITIES
Gilchrist Club is an exclusive, private hunting, sporting, corporate retreat and meeting facility designed for the enjoyment of its discriminating membership. Surrounded by lush Florida woodlands, the Club offers the finest in hunting and recreational opportunities as well as a scenic, tranquil setting for relaxation and socializing. The Club caters year-round to the needs of corporations and individuals seeking a distinctive venue for personal recreation and corporate entertainment.

The Club property features an abundance of game birds and other wildlife. During the fall/winter season, the Club offers premier guided quail hunting and mixed bag hunts. All game, which may include pheasant, chukar, deer, and wild boar, will be harvested in accordance with the rules of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission or other appropriate governmental agencies.

The spring/summer season features limited hunts such as turkey, wild boar, coyote and alligator. Members may reserve hunts on a daily first-come, first-served basis. The Club offers Osceola turkey and deer hunting consistent with the Club’s wildlife management program. Experienced professional guides accommodate groups for each hunt. Guided fishing trips and our “Blast and Cast” trips may also be arranged through the club.
Main Site The Club’s main site is located on 27,000 heavily wooded acres in an unspoiled section of north central Florida, approximately 30 minutes west of Gainesville and I-75. At the main site, members enjoy exceptional quail habitat, along with other bird and game hunting opportunities.
Lodging Accommodations – Members enjoy three log-sided lodges, more commonly referred to as the Cypress House, Eagles Nest and Sandhill Crane, each of which offers four tastefully appointed private bedrooms. Amenities include a king or full-size bed, a spacious writing desk, T1 line and wireless internet service, armoire and private bathroom with shower. Each lodge is designed around a central great room area featuring leather sofa and cushioned chairs, large screen TV with satellite service, wood-burning fireplace, game table and wet bar. Outside, the lodges are tastefully landscaped to blend in with the Club’s natural surroundings and feature private fire pits, as well as covered decks in front and back with raised walkways leading to the waterfront Suwannee Lake Lodge.
The two larger executive lodges, The Gator’s Den and Seminole Reservation, are our newest lodges, built with the larger party in mind, having six spacious bedrooms with nine-foot cantilevered ceilings. Each lodge has the same amenities mentioned above, plus a six-foot soaking tub and shower. Both executive lodges feature two deluxe rooms with private entrances, wet bar, and refrigerator with icemaker. Rooms all have access to the patio and stunning lake views. Bedrooms are removed from the common areas of the lodge for privacy. The addition of these two lodges to our 3 four bedroom lodges provides accommodations for 24 guests in private rooms or up to 32 people (based on double occupancy).
HUNTING & FISHING
Quail Hunting – The cagey bobwhite quail is plentiful throughout the Club’s fields and may be hunted from October 1st through March 31st. Nineteen quail fields are currently available, with 15 customized Jeeps awaiting our members and guests. We can accommodate up to 30 hunters (two hunters per Jeep). Our fully operational kennel facility has 60 dog runs and is home to some of the finest bird dogs in the country. A valid Florida hunting license is required to hunt quail. Whether fishing off a dock or from the deck of a pontoon boat, bass boat or johnboat, members and guests will enjoy the challenge of catching large-mouth bass, bream or crappie. Additional freshwater fishing opportunities may also be found on the historic Suwannee and Santa Fe Rivers. If requested, a saltwater fishing expedition for speckled trout, redfish and cobia may be arranged on the Gulf of Mexico, located less than an hour from the Club.
