 Gray ghost plantation is a family owned and operated hunting outfitter in Southwest Georgia. This region of Georgia is becoming well known for trophy whitetail deer and the abundance of wild turkeys. We hunt 1100 acres of a mixture of planted pines, hardwood timber, ponds and food plots. The property is privately owned and operated. The property is managed for quality whitetails, and large flocks of turkeys. We take pride in our quality management of whitetails and turkeys. To help us do this, we have food plots of high protein clover, soybean, corn, wheat, winter rye, off season feeders, as well as natural acorns from oak timber.
We offer turkey hunting in the spring and deer hunting in the fall and winter. The spring turkey season is gun and/or bow and the deer season is split up for archers who want to get a head start on hunting season and we also cater to the rifle hunters later in the season.
All the land we hunt is excellent for producing good whitetails and turkeys, because we and other landowners in the area also practice Quality Deer Management. If you are looking for a high fence operation and a guaranteed kill we may not be what you are looking for we offer a fair chase hunt and guarantee that we will do are very best to put you in the right area for game, we do not sell deer we sell the opportunity for you to hunt on managed private property.
About Us
At Gray Ghost Plantation we want your hunt to be exactly that, "Your Hunt". To make sure this happens, we only hunt a maximum of eight hunters on 1100 acres. You will receive a "checklist" with the items you need to bring and some others you may not want to bring. We will also provide you with a property map to better familiarize your self with the property you will be hunting. All of are hunts are semi-guided unless requested by the particular individual.
 Most of our whitetail deer hunts are four day hunts. We start out with giving you a tour of the land and show you some stand locations. Mainly you will see the overall layout of the land you will be hunting. We will show you the prime areas of activity at the time, if you would like to bring and set your own stands that is ok with us and is recomended but the final decision on where you hunt is going to be made by you. Remember this is "Your Hunt". You will be hunting on your own. We will always be there to assist in tracking and retrieval, but the choice were you would like to hunt is up to you. We will meet with you every morning and evening to make sure that everybody is getting to where they want to be, and help you have a successful hunt in any way we can. Our hunts are semi-guided however we will assist in any way possible to make it a great hunt.
Turkey hunts are also available in the spring giving you the opportunity to bag a nice gobbler. We provide self or fully guided turkey hunts at your request. Gray Ghost plantation in middle Georgia provides some of the best quail hunting in Georgia with a laid back atmosphere for our hunters and businessmen and just one hour and forty five minutes south west of Atlanta International Airport and 45 minutes east of Columbus Airport makes it convenient for our clients. We strive on making your hunt and the stay with us relaxing and enjoying, we provide half day hunts, full day hunts and wing shooting weekend packages.
Our lodge can accommodate up to eight hunters at a time so if your a small corporate group or a group of guys or gals wanting to get away and quail hunt this is the place. With affordable rates, a new lodge and over 1000 acres of land Gray ghost plantation is the place to book your next hunt.
Rates
All hunt packages include guide, dogs, License, bottled water and transportation from the lodge to the fields. Any additional birds on any of our packages are $ 7.00 dollars per bird.
Cleaned and packaged birds are .90 each
Quail hunts are from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Half day or full day hunts add $150.00 per person per night for lodging.
Half day hunt: Either morning or afternoon no meals, $ 350.00 per hunter Two hunter minimum 12 birds each.
Full day hunt: Lunch included from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm $ 500.00 per hunter Two hunter minimum 24 birds each.
Wingshooting Weekend Package: $ 1300.00 per hunter.
 
Arrive at the lodge on Friday evening get settled in Enjoy a cocktail while you wait for a steak to come of the grill and prepare for the morning hunt. The next morning breakfast is served and your guide pics you up at the lodge and your off to the first part of the days hunt, return for lunch relax and get prepared for some more wingshooting in the afternoon. When you return relax and enjoy some refreshments with a good ole fashioned bar-b-que dinner with all the trimmings. Sunday morning have a full breakfast and head out to the field to finish up your round of the wingshooting weekend and depart by 1:00 pm.
Includes guide, dogs, license, and bottled water, transportation to the field from the lodge, lodging, meals, and drinks. Note wingshooting weekend package includes 36 birds per person for this package and can also be arranged during the week with advance bookings there is a minimum of 2 hunters for this package.
Rules: All hunter must wear a orange vest or hat during hunt. All hunters will be required to attend a brief safety meeting and obey all safety rules. All hunters must be 12 years old to hunt. Hunters between 12 - 15 years old must be accompanied by a supervising adult with only one person hunting at a time.

A weekend hunt from noon friday to noon sunday includes one gobbler and lodging.
(additional gobblers are an extra $ 100 charge)
$750.00 per hunter, meals not included but can be arranged at time of booking.

Accommodations
We have a new lodge to accommodate many hunters
There are two options depending on what you are comfortable with.
We offer a cabin on the property that has bunk house style sleeping quarters for a group that sleeps eight. Included is full kitchen, dining area, living room , bathroom with shower, exterior with barbeque pit, cleaning station for skinning and cleaning your game and an exterior fire pit for camp fires. Total occupancy for the cabin is a maximum of eight hunters. The daily charge per person for the cabin is $ 50.00 per day this is for non-hunters.
If you would like to stay in town there are a couple of locations to choose from and we can provide you with that information at the time of booking your hunt. The rooms at the local inn range from fifty to sixty dollars a night.
 
As far as meals are concerned, you have full use of the cabin kitchen and may cook for yourself or we can make prior arrangements with your group to cook for you. All groceries will be paid for by your hunting party and there is no charge for us to cook for you. Routinely in the past we do a continental breakfast, light lunch and a big southern dinner. Past clients have stated that they have gained weight on our hunts and the cooking was better than home. If you would like us to cook for you, then it would be an additional charge of $ 60.00 per person for the 4 day hunt additional to the hunting and lodging costs, please let us know at the time of booking.
