The Hunt
Georgia Quail Hunting: November 1 - March 31

Pine Hill Plantation is the only Orvis Endorsed Wingshooting facility that provides guided bobwhite quail hunting exclusively from mule-drawn wagon and horseback quail hunting as it has been done on most of the private plantations for over 150 years. Located in the heart of the Georgia Quail Hunting Belt, Pine Hill Plantation offers the discriminating sportsman the finest in plantation wild quail hunting. Located on thousands of acres of gently rolling wiregrass terrain, the beautiful long leaf pine and live oak forest interspersed with crop fields and food plots make Pine Hill excellent quail habitat which we meticulously manage in order to produce some of Georgia's best wild quail and early-release quail hunting.
Quail hunting is done on horseback and customized mule drawn wagons. You are our exclusive guests for your stay from one day to a week or more. Parties are limited to 6 per hunt to provide personal attention and to gear the bird hunt to your desires. Three experienced guides will accompany your party and work our proven pointers, setters and retrievers.
The matched mules "Kit" and "Kate" stand by, ready to pull the wagon. Three guides (a huntmaster, a dog handler and wagon master) accompany you on your luxury bird hunt, so there's plenty of personal attention. A dog kennel of over thirty pointers, setters, and Brittanies with exceptional bloodlines will earn your respect as they run their courses. The Labs off the wagon will flush covies and retrieve the quail from where you drop them. Fred and Todd will give you tips should you need them.
Come to Pine Hill Plantation to experience the excitement of twenty pairs of wings flushing from the cover at once, and test your shooting skills against the "wily" bobwhite quail!

A morning duck hunt is the perfect addition to your quail hunting trip at Pine Hill Plantation. Try your skills at shooting wood ducks and ring necks as they come screaming into the ponds located on our private bird hunting land at speeds of over 70 miles per hour. In colder weather you will see the occasional mallard or canvas back duck. Experience the dawn of a new day while duck hunting over one of our many private ponds - and then retreat to the lodge for a relaxing breakfast. Then it's off to the pine forest for a day of South Georgia's best quail hunting.

Georgia Turkey Hunting & Trophy Large Mouth Bass

From March 21 through May 15, Pine Hill Plantation offers some of the best eastern wild turkey hunting that south Georgia has to offer. The eastern wild turkey was found in Georgia's forests long before Columbus ever landed in the "New World." Wild turkeys were hunted and utilized heavily by Seminole Native Americans.
Pine Hill Plantation's quail habitat management and predator control produce excellent wild turkey habitat as well. Your turkey hunting guide has scouted well in advance of your arrival and will position you with decoys and call turkeys for you - or you may do your own turkey calling.
Spring time in south Georgia is also peak time for trophy large mouth bass fishing and brim (or "shell cracker" as the locals call them) fishing on one of our private ponds. When the shell crackers are bedding there is no greater fun than to pull them into the boat - one after the other. Large mouth bass fishing, shell cracker fishing, skeet shooting competition on our ASA regulation skeet range and horseback riding on the property make great activity additions following a morning turkey hunt. Contact us for customized group pricing.
After spending an enjoyable day turkey hunting on some of south Georgia's finest private turkey hunting land and private lakes, treat yourself to Pine Hill Plantation's world class lodging and a gourmet dining experience.

Friends & Memories: Guest Testimonials

Below are just a few testimonials and reviews from our valued guests.
"I spent two very happy weekends at Pine Hill last year. How do you go about describing Pine Hill? First of all, it's about a thousand miles and a hundred years from New York City. You can talk burning woods and dogs with Jay, horses with Coy, and all of the really important things in life with Hilton. In between the talking, there's some mighty fine quail shooting. I'm looking forward to two more hunts this season!" Albert Garner - New York
" My only regret is not finding this place sooner. My boys and I enjoy this trip more than anything we do each year." Bill Fisher - Nebraska
"I died and went to heaven!" Gabe Michel - Michigan
"Everything was the best!" Bob Price - Florida
"It doesn't get any better than Pine Hill." John Caputo - South Carolina
"I hunted quail all of my life throughout the Southeast, as well as game in Mexico, Argentina, South Dakota and Kansas. I have never been as please as I was with Fred and his staff. Great horses. The dogs were steady to wing and shot. The land is well maintained. Excellent experience and one that I would highly recommend to anyone."
"The staff, food and lodge were excellent. Our group has hunted together for 15 years and at Pine Hill for the last two. Suffice it to say that we will be back next year!!"
