Welcome to the Backwoods Preserve www.backwoodspreserve.com. We are located in Bremen, Indiana (20 miles S of South Bend, 100 miles SE of Chicago, 60 miles W of Fort Wayne, IN). We offer you over 60 years of experience pertaining to your outdoor experience. We are located approximately 100 miles East of Chicago and 60 miles West of Fort Wayne, IN.
Directions:
From North: Go South on 331 from 20 bypass approximately 8 miles to Shively Road. Go East on Shively Road 2 1/2 miles. Property is located on North side of the road at 12601 Shively Road.
From South: Go North on 331 from U.S. 6 approximately 4 miles to Shively Road. Go East on Shively Road 2 1/2 miles. Property is located on the north side of the road at 12601 Shively Road.

Upland Game Bird Hunts
Your Connection to Great Pheasant Hunting in Northern Indiana!
This operation was formed by Lee & Charlie Fritz, a father and son pair of hunters in 1999. We created this site to assist fellow hunter's with the once tedious task of finding quality locations to hunt pheasant. We take the legwork out of your next hunt by providing you with the most complete information on the top hunting operation Northern Indiana has to offer. Our goal is to assist you to the best of our ability so that you can have that Northern Indiana hunting experience you have always dreamed about!
We offer you access to our 550 acres of private land and our 35 years of combined hunting experience.

Regular Upland Game Bird Hunts
Price of birds
3 Pheasants - $60.00 additional birds available
5 Chukars - $60.00 additional birds available
6 Quail - $60.00 additional birds available
Guide dog 60.00 per party
* You are welcome to bring you own dog.
* If you are in need of a dog and guide, they are available for $50.00 per party.
Seasons:
* Opens September 1 through April 1.
* Seven days a week.
* Morning or Afternoon hunts available.
Hunting Parties:
* Minimum 2 man.
* Maximum 7 man (or two 5-man hunts on separate areas.)
European Hunts
* Hunts @ $120.00 for 6 pheasants (or) $180.00 for 10 pheasants per hunter.
* Bookings will be for 8 - 20.
* Hunters orange, hunting license or preserve license, ear and eye protection are mandatory.
* No shotgun larger than a 12 gauge.
* Hunters with retrievers may bring dogs and will be allowed to retrieve birds.
* Hunts will begin at 9:00 am.
* Be at club house by 8:00 am to sign in and receive instructions.
* Lunch will be included.
* A clean up hunt will follow.
* Birds can be cleaned and bagged for a $2.00 per bird upon request.

Whitetail Deer Hunts
Located in Northern Indiana, Backwoods Preserve is the fastest growing preserve in Indiana. Established in 1999, we offer upland game bird hunts and also free range and/or a challenging high fence hunt for whitetail deer. You will have an experience that will last a lifetime. With over 60 years of combined hunting experience in the western states along with Alaska and Canada. Being lifetime residents of Indiana, we offer you a hunting experience to meet or exceed your expectations. Here at Backwoods Preserve, we start our Whitetail Deer hunts 1st of October through 1st of January. You may use Bow, Shotgun, Handgun, or Muzzleloader at anytime within these dates. Free range hunts have to abide by season dates and license requirement for the state of Indiana. So, if you want a buck that bust brush, pick your season and book your hunting dates now!

We offer exciting and challenging Elk Hunts. The season runs 1st of September through the end of February. You may use Bow, Shotgun, or Muzzleloader at anytime within these dates.

Backwoods offers exotic hunts for Corsican, Mouflon, Dall, Black Hawaiian and other rams. Also available are Fallow Deer, Black Bucks and Russian Hogs. You may use Bow, Shotgun, and Muzzleloader.

Deer Farm
We have a TB and Brucellosis-Free Accredited herd and are CWD monitored herd since January 2002 per the Indiana State Board of Health. We offer DNA proof on our deer. All of our breeding animals are wormed every month . They are healthy and well cared for. Each deer is ear tagged and tattooed and, we can give you the birth date for each animal. We offer the highest quality of bloodlines available for the whitetail deer. We are consistently improving the bloodlines by breeding them with the best genetics available.
