•About Us•
Established in 1978, Deer Creek did not evolve overnight. it was borne of passion, dedication and relentless determination. Legendary first for its trophy whitetails and more recently for its unsurpassed wingshooting, today Deer Creek is truly a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. Spring and summer resort activities include trophy catch-and-release bass fishing, horseback riding, 5-stand sporting clays, birding, and hiking. Whatever your sporting interests may be, world-class facilities and amenities provide the perfect corporate meeting location or family getaway.
Awarded the esteemed honor of 2006-07 Orvis® Endorsed Wing Shooting Lodge of the Year, Deer Creek Lodge will provide you with hard flushing, hard-flying birds, luxurious lodging, southern hospitality, and gourmet country cuisine at its finest! Deer Creek is widely recognized for its one-fee, “no limit” wingshooting forays for upland game birds and its unique offering of free-ranging mallards where limits of green-heads are the rule, not the exception! Coined "The Happy Hunting Ground" by Native American Indians, trophy whitetails, wild turkeys, and a variety of small game species also flourish here. Whatever your interests and whatever the season, Deer Creek can accommodate your outdoor life-style!
This wildlife-rich environment has enabled Deer Creek to attain recognition as a worldwide hunting destination. National acclaim was first acquired for trophy whitetails with feature articles appearing in a variety of magazines including Buckmasters, Sporting Classics, North American Whitetail, Deer & Deer Hunting, Bowhunter, Bow & Arrow, Barron’s Outdoor Guide, Deer & Big Game Bowhunting, Bass Pro Shop’s Outdoor World, Advanced Deer Hunting and Whitetail Monster Bucks. A variety of nationally-televised TV shows including Jimmy Houston Outdoors, AdventureBound Outdoors, Buckmasters, and Kids Hooked on the Outdoors were filmed on-location, and numerous newspaper articles and several nationally distributed videos have also touted our trophy whitetails. Feature articles depicting the club’s various wingshooting opportunities have appeared in The Double Gun Journal, Shooting Sportsman, Gray’s Sporting Journal, Sporting Classics, Sporting Clays, Wildfowl, Wing & Shot, North America’s Greatest Bird Hunting Lodges and Preserves, Wingshooter’s World, and the revered Bird Hunting Report. Several nationally-televised outdoor shows and commercial videos have portrayed the club’s unsurpassed wing shooting opportunities, as well.

Deer Creek has now gained global renown for its one-fee, “no limit” wing shooting forays for upland game birds and its unique offering of free-ranging mallards. Feature articles depicting the club’s various opportunities have appeared in The Double Gun Journal, Shooting Sportsman, Gray’s Sporting Journal, Sporting Classics, Sporting Clays, Wildfowl, Wing & Shot, North America’s Greatest Bird Hunting Lodges and Preserves and the esteemed Bird Hunting Report. Several nationally-televised outdoor shows and commercial videos have portrayed the club’s unsurpassed wing shooting opportunities as well. These various distinctions culminated during the 2001 season with the highly celebrated Wing Shooting Lodge Endorsement by the ORVIS® Company, a seal of approval that we proudly display to this day!
2006-07 ORVIS® Endorsed Wing Shooting Lodge of the Year--"No Limit" Wingshooting at its Finest: Quail and Pheasant.
In 1996, Deer Creek introduced its unique "No Limit" quail and pheasant (as well as other game bird) wingshooting format to its guests. "The rest" as they say, "is history!" Nestled in the gently rolling countryside of Northwestern Kentucky, Deer Creek became distinguished as the state's first and only prestigious Orvis Endorsed Wing Shooting Lodge in 2001. This tremendous honor culminated during the 2006-07 season with the award of the Orvis Company's esteemed Orvis Endorsed Wing Shooting Lodge of the Year! Lodges are required to meet stringent criteria established by the Orvis Company before being considered a member of this elite group. Equal to the quality of the hunt is the quality of the lodge itself. Prompt, courteous service is a must. Accommodations must be first-rate and always clean and comfortable. Hors díoeuvres and open bar are offered for the after-hunt hours and dining is a memorable experience. Most important, we never accommodate more clients than to which we can personally attend. And if our staff isn't on a first-name basis with you when you arrive, they will be by the time you depart!
Here, you will savor the pleasing flora and fauna of days gone by coupled with staunch points and the highest volume, one-fee quail and pheasant (as well as other game bird) hunting in the nation. The establishment of native warm season grasses and our unique method of replenishing bobwhite quail populations are keys to our unparalleled wingshooting. A variety of quail and pheasant packages are available: "Traditional" hunts provide for 16-bird daily limits, Our most popular hunts, however, are conducted under our exclusive one-fee, "No Limit" quail and pheasant format. Contacts of 18-24 coveys and honest opportunities at upwards or over 200 birds can be expected during a full day of hunting. Add chukar birds, red-leg and Hungarian partridges, and mallards for an unforgettable wingshooting experience. Plus, average temperatures of 30-50º Fahrenheit provide comfortable hunting conditions throughout our October through March extended hunting season.
In addition to the overwhelming quantity and quality of our quail and pheasant (as well as other game birds), personal service is a leading contributor to Deer Creek's sterling reputation. Professional, hospitable guides will escort you afield and ensure that your time outdoors is well-spent and of the highest quality. And at day's end, excellent country cuisine and sumptuous comfort will greet you in our new 10,000 sq. ft. lodge.
Thousands of mallards on our private refuge ensure hot-barreled action all season long!
Why travel to Canada, Mexico, or Argentina when you can enjoy liberal limits of mallards in Kentucky? Waterfowl is a passion with us and we became frustrated with gazing into empty skies day-after-day, waiting for the massive migration that is always promised but seldom occurs. So. . .we developed our own refuge. The completed project is an aesthetically pleasing mixture of islands, peninsulas, hidden coves, and flooded timber. It looks "ducky", and it is! Visiting guests can expect opportunities at limits each time that they settle into one of our comfortable blinds. Hunts are conducted from a variety of set-ups: heated "Arkansas-style" blinds, boat blinds, and floating pontoon blinds enable us to move with the birds and remain successful day-after-day. On a typical morning you can expect to see hundreds, if not thousands of mallards in your face! Our guests maintain that our mallard gunning provides the most awe-inspiring duck hunt of their lives and this is a "must do" hunt if you like gunning for mallards. Base packages start as low as $395 per person for a one-half day "traditional" hunt with six-bird limit, three person minimum. You can also combine our unparalleled mallard hunts with quail, pheasant, chukar and Hungarian partridge for an incredible day of wing shooting opportunities.

Turkey
The Eastern Wild Turkey is arguably the most sought after game bird in the nation, and the guides at Deer Creek have taken the art of turkey hunting to the next level. In fact, you can expect to be "set-up" on mature birds on each and every hunt.

Deer Creek's properties were the original release site for turkeys when they were restocked in Webster County in 1981. Today, turkey-specific nesting areas of warm season grasses are left fallow each spring and food plots of chufa, corn, milo, clover and alfalfa provide year-round nutrition. These plantings, combined with white oak acorns and other natural food sources, enable us to retain an abundance of wild turkeys on our properties. A maximum of four persons (guided 1 x 1) are accepted per 3-day hunt.
New Lodge – Rustically elegant and sumptuously comfortable!

Rustic elegance and modern technology blend to make Deer Creek’s new 10,000 sq. ft. lodge the ultimate in luxurious comfort. Nestled atop a wooded hill overlooking our trophy bass fishery, the new lodge facility, which was completed in October of 2006, offers eight bedrooms, each with two queen beds, its own private bath, and its own TV with satellite. Six of the private baths also include Jacuzzi tubs and jetted-shower combinations. An open study area replete with internet and computer access, and a gun room with wooden lockers completes the lower level. On the main level you will find massive glass windows that provide a stunning view of our trophy bass lake and surrounding countryside.

Here, you can relax in opulent comfort and recall the days’ activities with friends at the bar or on one of several seating arrangements that collect the glowing warmth emitted from the massive stone fireplace. Additional amenities include satellite TVs, open bar, pool table, game tables, roomy dining/meeting area, spacious great room, large outdoor deck, pro shop, and full commercial kitchen. No expense has been spared to ensure that this new facility will provide you and your family, friends, guests and associates with lasting comfort throughout your stay.

The Auxiliary Lodge was originally built in the late 1800s and underwent a complete and upscale renovation with additions in 1999. Features include a great room with vaulted ceiling and comfortable seating for 8-12 guests; amenities include an antique wet bar and satellite TV. A large stone fireplace (built with stone collected from the “Deer Creek” tributary) encourages friendly conversation, and spacious picture windows provide a spectacular view of the Deer Creek basin. Barn-wood trim adorns most areas and lends itself to the warm, rustic elegance of this facility. Excellent country cuisine is served on a massive plank table. The dining room also has a vaulted ceiling, and substantial picture windows again provide a stunning view of the Deer Creek basin. Four bedrooms, each with private bath, provide private lodging for four persons or semi-private lodging for eight persons in this wonderfully renovated turn-of-the century farmhouse.
Three-day turkey hunts begin with a late afternoon arrival and include three nights' private lodging with meals, three mornings of guided hunts, birds dressed and vacuum packaged, and a fair-chase opportunity to harvest two mature gobblers. Opportunities are 90-100%, season after season. And if bass fishing is a passion, our "Blast and Cast" is a wonderful option. You can include two afternoons of trophy bass fishing for reasonable fees.
