About Long River Lodge
Long River Lodge features a variety of interesting and rewarding hunting landscapes. From natural Louisiana ground covers to harvested fields and tree lines are all designed and maintained to offer the most natural habitat possible for the once-plentiful game birds. With one of the largest acreage of restored quail habitat in the state, the hunting grounds at LRL harkens back to the day when every farm could boast of have many coveys of the prized birds.
Lodging and Dining
Inspired by the design of an 18th century French planter’s house, Long River Lodge has achieved a unique, relaxing environment to welcome the hunter at the end of a day packed with non-stop action.
Cabins feature extra long custom made beds, roomy showers and deep shaded porches to help our guests unwind and be well-rested for the next day of shooting activities. Our guest cabins can be set up to sleep from 1 to 4 guests to keep fathers and sons or friends together.
The Kennels
The kennels at Long River Lodge are stocked with some of the best gun dogs around, Brittany Spaniels. These high-energy, close-hunting dogs are delight to watch work. The Brittany is well suited for the birds and hunting conditions found in south Louisiana. Each dog has its own personality and personal hunting style; However, one thing you can always count is they will attack the toughest cover and find the birds. You will be sure to fall in love with these friendly, hard-working little dogs.
The Birds
In order to assure every quail hunter that visits LRL has the most opportunities to bag birds, we hatch and raise thousands of game birds every year. With flight conditioning, restricted human contact and in-habitat early release, the flush and flight characteristics of our birds are very similar to birds in the wild.
Sporting Clays
The professionally designed Bayou Course at Long River Lodge offers shooters of all skill levels a challenging yet rewarding shooting experience. Target presentations are reset weekly to make every visit a new experience. Our Claymate™ target control system makes it easy to control target release even for solo shooters. In addition an 8-trap 5 Stand is available for warm-ups before hunts or friendly competitions among friends.

Half Day Hunt:
Half Day Hunt includes: guide and dogs, lunch, 15 bird opportunity, 5-stand warm-up $ 295
Full Day Hunt:
Full Day Hunt includes: guide and dogs, lunch, 25 bird opportunity, 5-stand warm-up $ 495
Split Day Hunt:*
Split Day Hunt includes: guide and dogs, lunch both days, 30 bird opportunity, 5-stand warm-up both days $ 545
Mixed Bag Hunt:
Quail, Pheasant and Chukkar (Prices upon request)
Driven Pheasant Hunt:
8 bird per gun opportunity, 10 gun minimum group size $ 395
* Afternoon hunt followed by next day morning hunt
