True to the tradition of the old south, and a time when gentlemen would gather at the estate of an acquaintance and indulge in sport, cuisine, relaxation and camaraderie. The climax of the festivities was the classic Bobwhite Quail Hunt. Longleaf Plantation pays homage to these days of old and then some. Making it the perfect retreat for business, pleasure or both. So come see us in South Mississippi for a delightful adventure and relaxation.
THERE COULDN'T BE A MORE Perfect Setting
Located in the lower region of Mississippi, is the 4,000-acre retreat that takes its name from the hundreds of Longleaf Pines that line the area. Longleaf Plantation owes its lineage to the classic hunting lodges of years past with construction almost entirely of cypress and capped with roofs of tin. A large porch beckons you to come sit in oversized rocking chairs and recount the day's activities while overlooking a scenic rippling creek.

But it is the environment itself that offers you the most spectacular experience. Humble solitude greets you as you stroll through majestic corridors of trees. Feel the cooling breeze as it drifts over you at dawn.
Test the soft ground cover under your feet. Surely, this place is nothing short of hallowed ground for those who wish to stop the world for a brief time.
A Hunter's HUNTING LODGE
Longleaf Plantation isn't the typical gentile Old South Plantation as embodied by the motion picture "Gone With The Wind". In fact, it has a much more rustic feel - the feel of a hunting lodge from years ago.
You'll experience solid construction almost entirely of cypress, capped with roofs of tin. Venture inside and you'll see exposed rough-hewn beams criss-crossing the expanse high above you, and large crackling fireplaces at floor level.

And, in Longleaf Plantation's three lodges, you'll find spacious bedrooms, each with two beds and adjoining baths. And in our main lodge is the executive suite - you'll be sure you've never slept better. In addition, you'll find large open areas for relaxing with friends and acquaintances and perfect for business meetings.
Cuisine. A SOUTHERN TRADITION - A SOUTHERN ART FORM
Dining at Longleaf Plantation is your opportunity to partake of house specialties, and it's our goal here to relive the golden days of the old south. A time when ideas were exchanged over only the finest food, and laughter filled the air as much as legendary dishes filled the senses.

Longleaf Plantation's reputation for cuisine is known throughout the country, and after one meal, you'll surely see why. At any setting, you may be treated to a platter featuring quail and wild rice with homemade fig preserves.
Or you may find yourself enjoying spicy barbecue ribs, Mississippi's own famous catfish with piping hot hushpuppies and a rich slice of our world-renowned pecan pie, you may be tempted to plan your next meal before your current one has even concluded.
UNLIKE Any CONFERENCE ROOM ON EARTH
Longleaf Plantation offers you the unique opportunity to not only escape the stress and demands of offices, cell phones and pagers, it also gives you ample time to renew ties with old business associates or bond with new ones. It is nothing short of the perfect setting for a business meeting. And why not? There is no such thing as business-as-usual these days. We are currently constructing new conference facilities which will be available in 2009.
Why should your business conferences be tied to the old-school thinking of gray flannel suits, buttoned-down shirts and fluorescent lights of conference rooms?

Or it can be a pleasant and unforgettable experience for someone in your business circle who is to be rewarded for a job well done.
The Hunt
Start your day tempering your eye and steadying your hand with several rounds of trap or skeet shooting. When you're ready for the day's main event, your personal guide will drive you to your designated course. You can roam hundreds of acres of dedicated feed patch ensuring the abundance of quail. After a full mornings shoot, your party will return to the lodge for a hearty lunch., then return to the fields for the afternoon.
