Danny has called both species for over 42 years. His participation in Ducks Unlimited started in 1971 where like-minded men and women shared their knowledge with this eager young man. Today he competes in calling contests and has a fine guiding service in different parts of NW Missouri, including the stretch of excellent water fowl hunting water on Smithville Lake where he scattered his father’s ashes.
Waterfowl Imagine being in the Delta Marsh Canada hunting the vast numbers of waterfowl that have migrated North and soon make their yearly flight back South. The liberal limit's and generous season's provide a waterfowl hunters dream's but as the birds begin to migrate back they have been educated and conditioned to calling, decoy spread, and various blinds by the thousands. As they continue on thru the Mississippi Flyway Southward the birds go thru this nonstop educated and conditioned process that when they hit Missouri by the thousands they are very smart and weary of such mentioned waterfowling variables. Here at Iron Duck Hunting we go to great lengths of change and variation on calling, decoy spread, location, and blind camouflage to help ensure a more successful hunt. With our unconditional commitment to enhance and present the world of illusion to the vast numbers of waterfowl that have staged and being in the various locations for great periods of time pending on weather, food source, and open water, we have the luxury of pulling from our resources Fantastic Waterfowling Hunting while other area hunters often do not have the success that they have witnessed on a daily basis. Last year 2006 Canada Goose with two. and a half weeks left in the season one of our many locations went from harvesting 23 geese to 85 these birds had been in this area since late December in that time frame of two and half weeks we harvested birds every day same place, manicured pasture, no cattle, frozen 3 acre pond We carry great pride in this particular setting to have that kind of success as we do in all Iron Duck Hunting adventures. So we offer your choice of marsh, big water hunts out of pontoon blinds, or bank blinds, Canada Goose afield and Spring Snow Goose. All of our blinds are heated. Our hunting locations are N.W. Missouri including Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge area Mound City and Smithville 7200 acre lake Plattsburg Missouri.

While bow hunting in Missouri you have the opportunity to hunt in all different kinds of conditions. The weather turns from hot with mosquitoes to snow and cold winds. The woods also change from thick and green to colorful with falling leaves to bare and snowy. Along with the weather changes, the woods changing, and the food source changes, comes the deer habit change. Spending time in the woods and adapting to these changes is the key to a successful deer harvest all season long. Bow season in Missouri is from September 15th to January 15th. I am in the woods preparing for deer season by July. I’m trimming shooting lanes, I’m patterning the deer in their summer pattern, and I’m moving tree stands into position for the early deer season. I hunt out of 15 foot ladder stands. They are safe and sturdy, and they don’t bother the deer one bit. I own nineteen ladder stands and I’m still buying more. I have endless video of does and bucks walking right by my stand. In September the deer are still in their summer pattern. This is a prime time to shoot a monster buck because he is real predictable this time of year. If you can find a big buck in July he will still be in that same pattern come opening day. In October the leaves start to change and the deer habits change as well. The fall turkey hunters hit the woods and the deer go into their pre rut activities. Using both of these to your advantage will bag you a giant buck in October. In November the rut is on! The first week of November which is right before rifle season, is what I wait all year for. All of the big bucks are roaming without caution. You will see bucks that you’ve never seen before chasing does around without noticing you waiting in your tree stand for him to walk by. In December the deer are trying to recover from the stress of the rut and the November rifle season. By the end of December the deer have grouped back up. If you can find their food source there is a good chance you will find a big buck preparing for the hard winter to come. In January I finally get to use my snowflage. The does are all running together in big groups and when you see one buck there will be several with him. This is the time of year I like to fill my doe tags although my biggest archery buck came on January 15th (the last day of the season), so don’t give up on the opportunities of January. Come and bow hunt Missouri any time of the season and you won’t be disappointed. Hunt safe! Hunt often! Respect Nature!

Testimonials Hunting with Danny is like hunting with an old friend, even if you've just met him. I've been blessed to hunt with many different guides over the years, but Danny is the one guy that I have to see every year. The hunting is always top-notch, but it's the extras and fellowship that I enjoy more than anything. The scenery is straight out of a waterfowl magazine, the calling is sweet music and the dog work perfect. Thanks, Danny, for the memories. Lawrence Taylor PR Manager PRADCO Hunting (Knight & Hale Game Calls and Carry-Lite Decoys)
If you are looking for a dedicated and qualified host for a hunting experience, Danny Guyer's number is one to have in your book. A true sportsman with a genuine dedication to conservation , Danny was a fixture in his family's hunting adventures from a young age. Danny has been privileged to have experienced many outstanding waterfowlers in his life, not the least of which was his father Dave, who was posthumous inductee into the Waterfowlers Hall of Fame in Mound City, Mo. Danny has been generous in sharing his hunting and dog breeding resources with many conservation groups, as well as introducing many people to the waterfowl recreation resource. As a friend and hunting compatriot for close to forty years with Danny, I salute him in his venture as he makes what is ordinary in the Squaw Creek area, an extraordinary experience for people seeking a unique outdoor experience. Joe Laukemper President, Waterfowlers Hall of Fame, Mound City, Mo.
I have known Dan and hunted with him off and on for over thirty-five years. He is an excellent duck, goose and turkey caller, needless to say he is an outstanding guide and host. Dan is the type that makes you feel at home and part of the hunt. Over the years we have had great success in our hunting experiences. As in all hunting there are no guarantees; however, Dan makes the best of all conditions.
As a life long hunter, 73 years of age I have seen the best and worst years of hunting. As far as my background, I have been inducted into The Waterfowl Hall of Fame, past State Chairman of Ducks Unlimited, a Grand Slam Life sponsor in Perpetuity, NRA Benefactor Life Sponsor and Past President of the Waterfowl Hall of Fame.
