Eighty acres of spectacular high-desert terrain. A twenty-station world-class sporting clays course winds its way through the dramatic setting. Trap, skeet, rifle, pistol venues. The vexing “Humbling Hilltop” five-stand, where all the targets are below you. A clubhouse with a fabulous German oak bar beckons you, after your round, to hoist a few and swap tales of your shooting proficiency.

The Sporting Clays course at Desert Lake is considered by many of the top shooters to be one of the finest in the country. The 20-station course nestles at the base of the McCullough mountains with spectacular views of the Eldorado Valley.

Our Services
 
Desert Lake provides even the most skilled sportsman with some of the finest shooting facilities west of the Mississippi. The club has been featured in nationally televised competitions and has played host to several high profile shooting events.
Desert Lake Shooting Club was once home to the Shooting Industry Masters, the Southwest Open and is the venue of choice for many prestigious shooting events. Desert Lake is open to the public.

Pistol & Rifle
Desert Lake Shooting Club's rifle and pistol ranges provide the perfect venues to zero in your weapons, practice your art or to just have some shooting fun.
Our facilities are used by law enforcement and Federal Air Marshals for training and have been the site of many prestigious shooting events.
Our 150-yard rifle range includes target stands and ten covered shooting positions. The 50-yard, pistol range includes metal reactive targets.
Trap & Skeet
For the avid trap and skeet shooters, we have it all - a trap field and skeet field as well as two 5-stand sporting clays. ATA Trap (five stations) and American Trap (8 stations) are also available.
Trap and skeet are available to the public for both small and large shooting events. Corporations, casinos and national shooting organizations have repeatedly chosen Desert Lake Shooting Club for their special shooting events.
Sporting Clay
The Sporting Clays course at Desert Lake Shooting Club is considered by many of the top shooters to be one of the finest in the country.
The 20-station course nestles at the base of the McCullough mountains with spectacular views of the Eldorado Valley and Boulder City.
Providing two difficulty levels, the course provides challenge and enjoyment for sportsmen of all levels.
Firearms Training (Provided by VTI Associates)
VTI Associates Training Institute provides firearms, security, and self-defense training to security professionals, civilians, and protective services professionals. VTI Associates provides realistic, competent, contemporary, and cost-effective training.
Firearms Training
We offer a variety of firearms courses including Basic Pistol, Concealed Firearms Permit (CCW), Nevada and California Security Firearms, and our Defensive Pistol series.
Use-Of-Force and Defensive Tactics
We provide training for professional security personnel in use-of-force, defensive tactics, chemical spray (O.C.), baton and expandable baton, and handcuffing.
Executive Protection Training
Our 5-day Protective Services Operator (PSO) course is the perfect course for those considering entering the executive protection field or for seasoned operators seeking to enhance their skills.
Advanced and Specialized Courses
VTI is proud of its affiliation with Progressive F.O.R.C.E. Concepts. All of our advanced firearms and combatives courses are taught in conjunction with PFC. See PFCtraining.com for more information on their exciting training system.

Shooting League
 
Join in the fun of competitive shooting with Desert Lake Shooting League. Our events are held evenings under the lights and provide an enjoyable shooting environment for shooters of all skill levels.
Desert Lake Thursday Night 5 Stand Potluck
Come and join us on a Thursday Night for a 5 Stand Potluck Shoot under the lights. (Please visit our Calendar of Events for exact dates) Bring a friend, your favorite dish and your "A" game for our 30 target course. We'll provide the main dish and your first drink. Admission is $18.00 for Members, $23.00 for Non-Members and $5.00 for Non-Shooters. Shooting begins at 6pm so don't be late. The Lodge
 
The Lodge at Desert Lake Shooting Club provides the perfect centerpiece to your desert shooting experience. With a full service bar and flat screen TV, guests can find relaxation and enjoyment beyond a round of shooting on our courses. The Lodge also features a pro shop and a lounge area with a four-sided fireplace and comfortable leather couches and chairs.
