Maybe you are too young to remember bird hunting in the 50's and 60's. Perhaps you do remember and miss those days. Located in rural North Carolina, Rock Haven Shooting Preserve and Kennels can help you relive days long past.
Rocky and Vicki Homesley invite you to enjoy an old fashioned bird hunt for fast flying Bob-Whites, cackling Pheasants, or elusive Chukars. Along with old fashioned "Southern Hospitality" we offer a hunting paradise for outdoorsmen from all over the United States.
Rainy days are good hunting with weather condition birds.

Guided Hunts
Our experienced guides will show you the way, manage our dogs, and ensure a fun and safe hunting experience.
A typical hunt starts with a safety briefing, followed by some warm up shots on our skeet range. Transportation is then provided to the selected hunt location. Birds are early released coveys. We allow #7 1/2, 8, 8 1/2 or 9 shot.
All hunters are required to wear a Blaze orange hat or cap, and shatterproof eye protection. Brush pants and good boots are highly recommended!
The State of North Carolina requires either a hunting license or a preserve license to hunt at our facility. Either may be purchased online and printed immediately for your convenience from their website: NCWildlife.org
North Carolina requires that you complete a Hunter Safety Course prior to obtaining your first hunting license if you were born after 1958. Proof of the course or a prior license is required to purchase a new license. All of this can be done online in minutes!

Dog Training and Breeding
The Same bloodline has run through Rock Haven for over 30 years!
Does your dog need a few finishing touches, or are you starting from scratch? We offer force breaking to retrieve, steadying to wing and shot, and pre-season tune-ups. We offer gun dog training and filed trial dog training, and we know the difference!
Rocky Homesley has been the National Bird Hunters Association Handler of the Year 11 times, and runner up 5 times. He has also been voted Trainer of the Year in North & South Carolina, and accumulated over 100 field trial wins!
Along with multiple champions and runners up, Rocky has had many dogs featured on television and in numerous national hunting publications.
Membership
With our promise to make Rock Haven Kennels and Shooting Preserve an even better place to hunt and share in the comaraderie that has been associated with bird hunting since the early days, we now offer you, your business or organization the opportunity to purchase a yearly membership. The following is included in a yearly membership:
* 100 Free Quail to be hunted by December 31st.
* Lodging at our lodge for the fall/winter season
* Reduced rates on additional birds. (Quail, Pheasant, and Chukkar)
* Reduced rates on boarding in our new kennels
