MISSION STATEMENT Lost Prairie Lodge, LLC. is Dedicated to Improving Public Awareness of the American Prairie, and Determined to Reveal the Dynamic Dimensions of Nature’s Grandeur.
Discover “Nature’s Finest Escape on the Prairie”! World Class Freelance Waterfowl Hunting Bird Watcher’s Paradise Wildlife Enthusiast’s Dream Peaceful Get-Away Lost Prairie Lodge, LLC. >LPL<
Welcome to Lost Prairie Lodge. Located on the northern end of the Midwest prairie pothole region 30 miles south of the Canadian border in Cavalier County, North Dakota, >LPL< is a prime location for waterfowl migration. The land surrounding >LPL< supports a variety of bird species making it the ideal place for waterfowl hunting expeditions and bird watching excursions. Field and water hunts are conducted annually as the vast variety of migrating ducks and geese travel the central flyway. Ample food sources, an abundance of water and safe roosting areas all play host to millions of waterfowl annually. During peak migration, the Sand hill Crane and the Tundra Swan (tags available by state lottery through the NDGF) also migrate through the area on their south-bound journey. >LPL< combines premium lodging accommodations with some of the finest freelance duck hunting in the continental United States. A variety of hunting land, located in eight surrounding townships, makes up nearly 10,000 acres of land access near the Lost Prairie Lodge. Owners Mike and Deb Roppel purchased the original lodge building (Lodge 1) in 2000. The new lodge building (Lodge 2) was completed 2003. In July 2001, Lost Prairie Lodge became a limited liability company and adopted the >LPL< trademark. >LPL< is inspected by the ND State Health Department annually. Having grown up in the Alsen, ND, area; and farming in the vicinity for most of their lives, both Mike and Deb have close ties to the surrounding communities and to the land. Deb is a certified and licensed outfitter and guide through the ND Game and Fish Department as well as a nationally certified and licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Contact Us for further information. Guest satisfaction is the number one priority at Lost Prairie Lodge. We pride ourselves on a history of consecutive return clientele attracting hunters from across the U.S. A few have left brief testimonials. The return rate of hunters annually is 90% and the >LPL< calendar fills quickly. Reserving timeframes a year or more in advance has become quite common.
Lost Prairie Lodge has a policy of granting first option of time slot and unit to the existing occupant for the following year, with deposits due on or before February 1st. You get what you pay for; you pay for what you get. Lost Prairie Lodge offers reasonable rates and various hunting packages. On our Message Board you will find first hand information, referrals, and hunting stories. Check out our Gallery to scope out what some of our lodgers have experienced. Word of mouth and personal referrals have become our largest advertising campaign. It is difficult for people to forget their experiences at Lost Prairie Lodge; because of this, they tell others of the reasonable rates, excellent accommodations, and premium opportunities. Our goal is to have every person have the hunt of a lifetime, year after year.
