Land Information
We are a family owned outfitter that can accommodate any number of hunters. We hunt well over 25,000 total acres (1,500+ acres of pheasant preserve) of various hunting habitat (row crops, CRP, sloughs, rolling hills, deep ravines). This is the first season of opening up our ranch to other hunters, but our number one goal is to provide you with the best hunting experience you've ever had. We are looking to create personal relations that will allow for years of hunting partnerships between you and our family.
About Us
Jim and Shirley Anderson, along with Clay and Brittany Anderson, would like to personally welcome you to our hunting and fishing outfitter site, and we thank you for visiting. The Anderson family is proud to open up its South Dakota ranch, as well as other properties, to accommodate hunters for the first time ever! We have an abundance of pheasants, whitetail deer, buffalo, coyotes, prairie dogs, mule deer, antelope, turkey, waterfowl, doves, and elk on various properties. Our family has created incredible hunting memories for 3 generations while hunting these prime lands.
We know how the various type of game roams throughout the differing habitat, which facilitates successful hunter placements. We also have years of experience working with people, which aids in our overall goal of providing hunters with the safest, and most satisfying, hunting experience year after year.
Jim and Clay are both veterans and proudly support the armed forces, and the heroes who have fought for this great country. Jim has served almost 30 years among the officer and enlisted ranks of various Army units, and retired from the military on November 9, 2007. Clay served overseas during Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 153rd Engineer Battalion from Dec 10, 2003 – Feb 28, 2005.
We are a Christian family that is very easy to get along with, as we understand people value the freedom of making their own hunting memories without a fulltime baby-sitter. We are truly seeking good, safe, and responsible people that wish to hunt year after year with their corporation, family and/or friends. We can accommodate any number of groups, and offer 3 different lodging options for our hunters.
Anderson Outfitters has been a long time dream of both my dad and me, and we are excited to finally open the doors to our future. With this year being our first year, and with the amount of land, big animals, and tons of birds we have, reservation dates are filling fast. Please contact us as soon as possible so we can arrange your hunts today! Important: A 50% non-refundable group deposit is required, as dates are not secured until deposit is received by Anderson Outfitters! Rates DO NOT INCLUDE South Dakota Sales Tax!
Pheasant Hunting
Every pheasant hunter dreams of being able to freely roam pheasant filled land with their family, company, buddies, and/or their dog. This dream is our focus here at Anderson Outfitters, and one that we are making possible with some of the best hunting land there is in the country. Year after year, our land produces thousands of wild pheasants, which makes for some of the most exciting hunting experiences available to any hunting enthusiast.

Located in the Heart of South Dakota's Pheasant Country, Anderson Outfitters continues to groom the fields to produce more wild birds, on more private land, than most outfitters could only dream of. Pheasant hunting has been our main attraction for over 3 generations. We continue to have hunters compliment us regarding our bird population, and the agricultural processes involved with our outfitting operations. With over 1,500 acres of pheasant specific preserve land, on over 25,000 privately owned acres; our pheasant hunting experience is second to none!
We have a wide variety of habitat, which allows hunters to choose their preference from the following: CRP fields, Shelterbelts, Row Crops, Rolling Hills covered in Buck Brush, Deep Ravines, Sloughs, and Pasture Land.
Most Pheasant outfitters operate on small amounts of leased land, which forces them to combine several small groups into one big group daily. However, because of the amount of land that we hunt at Anderson Outfitters we are able to allow our hunters the ability to hunt our incredible pheasant-filled fields with only their group. We offer this exclusivity because we respect peoples' desires to create their own individual hunting memories. Whether you are seeking a corporate hunt, your child's first pheasant hunt, or you and your buddies just want to hunt with your own dogs, we will facilitate your wishes. Our family and field guides will do our best to ensure a safe and successful hunt for you and your group, year after year.
So remember, at Anderson Outfitters you have the ability to hunt with only your group, as there is nothing worse than being paired-up with the unknown safety levels of other hunters. Anderson Outfitters also has the ability to accommodate any number of hunters, from 1 to 50+.
We work hard to schedule hunts based on the capabilities of our land and birds, as it is a terrible experience walking into a field while watching all the birds fly out the other end. We schedule hunts to maintain a balance, ensuring that each client, of Anderson Outfitters, receives the best hunting experience, no matter what time of the year, or season, reservations are made.
Dove Hunting
Dove hunting with Anderson Outfitters, is an excellent way to hone any hunter's skills for other hunts, such as pheasants, waterfowl, and even competition clay pigeon shoots. Dove hunts have been an enjoyable endeavor for our family for years. With the speed at which these birds fly comes the ability to prove just how good you, or your buddies, really are.
Dove hunting continues to provide one of the most enjoyable experiences for young hunters as well. Most avid bird hunters received their start hunting these birds; therefore, it only makes sense to allow your youngster the opportunity to learn, and enjoy, hunting these small quick birds.
Dove hunters can choose to combine their hunt with other bird hunts at a discounted price
Waterfowl
Waterfowl hunting with Anderson Outfitters can include several species of geese and ducks. We have a wide variety of habitat that attracts several waterfowl species; therefore, hunters should explain which types they would prefer to bag. Also, due to weather changes, migration patterns may vary to some extent, so hunters should expect to travel to various locations that we feel will produce their best hunting opportunities daily.
Hunters may combine their Anderson Outfitters Waterfowl hunt with an afternoon of Pheasant Hunting as well.
If desired, hunters may choose to bring their own equipment, or simply use ours.
Lodging
After deposits are received by Anderson Outfitters, LLC, and reservations are secured, a packet will be sent to each hunter regarding possible lodging accommodations for antelope, mule deer, and elk hunts. This is especially important for these particular hunts, as they are not located on our eastern South Dakota properties.
Anderson Outfitters lodging options available for pheasant, buffalo, whitetail deer, dove, coyote, prairie dog, waterfowl, turkey, and fishing are as follows...
We offer three options:
1. Hunters may choose to be boarded in one of our ranch houses.
- $40.00 per night/per hunter
2. Hunters may bring Personal Camper and stay at our ranch.
- $30.00 per night/per camper hookup
3. Hunters may make Hotel Reservations at a local town (Miller, Kimball, Chamberlain, or Huron). Several hotel chains are available, with varying nightly rates.
* Local Hotel and Motel Information will be sent with reservation confirmation packet. Please remember to refer to Anderson Outfitters while booking your reservations.
