Welcome to Shangrila Ranch
Our entire Riddle family invites you to come and experience the best in South Dakota pheasant hunting. Located on 2000 acres of pristine hunting preserve on the banks of the Cheyenne River, our ranch is encompassed by gentle sloping bluffs, alive with an abundance of wild game - pheasants, ducks, geese, wild turkey, and deer.
Our ranch is reserved just for you, one group at a time, and we promise the extra personal attention which will make your stay fun and memorable - whether it’s the majestic views, a delicious lunch by the Cheyenne river, fishing at one of our ponds, shooting sporting clays, or a fun evening of billiards or Texas Holdem in our bar and game room. Not to mention - the best guides and dogs for your pheasant hunt!
We try to provide many different varieties of cover for pheasants. We grow corn, feed plots, and lush green meadows along with the Cheyenne River and Slate Creek which are here year round. No cattle to provide the best conditions possible for nesting protection from predators.
Ozzie, Ripper, Nikki, Duchess, and Brooks, our Labrador retrievers, will definitely enhance your hunting experience and become your friends by the end of the hunt. Guest’s dogs are invited to stay in our climate controlled kennels.
Another benefit of a Shangrila pheasant hunting experience is our close proximity to major Black Hills attractions. Our own tours are available to those who wish to explore our beautiful area - many attractions are within a 30 minute drive.
Our 8500 sq. foot lodge is three stories high. Upon arrival, your first stop will be the hunting room on the main floor, where you’ll find adequate space for all your hunting gear. As you walk into the great room, dinning and kitchen area, the view will be awesome. Ten guest rooms are located on the third floor and the lower level that still has beautiful views with glass doors to the outside. The bar, game room, and plasma television for your favorite sports events are also located on this level. Here our guests also enjoy sitting outdoors and relaxing after a successful days hunt.
Our ranch manager and foreman, Mark Walton and Wyatt VanEaton, who will also serve as your guides, will make sure you have a safe, fun, and memorable experience.
