Huron Ringneck Festival & Bird Dog Challenge
An event that draws people from all over the country!
The Huron Ringneck Festival Competition Hunt is an annual Pheasant Hunting competition that draws participants from across the United States. Approximately 30 teams (6 people per team) are selected through an application process. The object of the competition is to bag the most amounts of birds (within the state limit) with only four shells per hunter. Entry fee is $1,500 per team ($250 per gun.) The entry fee includes the hunt, two banquets, field lunch, rules breakfast, live entertainment and first-class prizes!
The Huron Ringneck Festival Bird Dog Challenge tests the skills of dogs and hunters. This competition allows two hunters and one dog to take the field in a timed, limited shell hunt. Points are awarded to each team based on retrieves, shots not taken, and every second remaining on the clock. Entry fee is $150 per team per run. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three teams. 6pm Meet the Landowner Banquet: Landowners, Teams and Scorekeepers gather for food and fun. Teams draw for and meet their Landowner.
8pm Team Calcutta
Saturday
7-8:30am Rules Breakfast: Teams and Scorekeepers meet to review rules of the hunt.
10am-5pm The Hunt: Teams will be vying for the top honors with only four shells per team member.
3-3:15pm Team Check-in
7-8pm Awards Banquet: First, Second & Third place prizes will be awarded to teams and their landowners.

August 31st. Late Applications will not be accepted!
Bird Dog Challenge Entries are due October 10.
