River Hills Lodge www.riverhillslodge.com offers some of the finest wingshooting in South Dakota. We've got lots of wild birds and over 14,000 acres of privately-owned land available for hunting.
We offer a choice of lodging options to fit your budget and hunting preference. At River Hills Lodge we feature the Cattle Baron package which is all-inclusive with full amenities. At River Hills Lodge East we offer the economical Cowboy package for the hunter who prefers to provide his own transportation and supplies.
 
Whatever accommodations you choose, we guarantee a great hunting experience. Our season runs from September through December with late season hunting during January through March. .

ONE DAY HUNTS: Our Day Trips include natural pheasant hunting on a variety of terrain full of wild birds. You'll have access to premium privately owned hunting properties and habitat. We'll guide your party of 4 or more with well-trained dogs and provide a delicious field lunch. Review the rate card for day hunt options and pricing.

We're located in south central South Dakota just 2 hours west of Sioux Falls and 1 hour west of Mitchell. Go west on Interstate 90, exit and head south on Hwy 45, at the town of Platte, take Hwy 44 1 mile west, then 2.5 miles south to the Lodge.
Accommodations
River Hills Lodge Cattle Baron's Package offers premium lodging and personal service at it's best. Our spacious bedrooms are single occupancy with a king or queen size bed and private bath. For the wheel-chair bound hunter we offer a private room with exclusive use of the handicap-accessible bathroom. We also have 2 large bedroom suites for double occupancy with private bath. Enjoy a restful night's sleep and wake up to the cackle of the roosters right outside your window.
We enjoy catering to business and corporate groups. There is a quiet conference area to conduct your meetings and high-speed wireless internet available throughout the lodge. Leather couches in the living room off the conference area provide a comfortable place for relaxing and private conversations.
We serve three home-cooked meals each day. Early risers will have coffee and pastries with their morning news. Enjoy a delicious breakfast before heading out for the day. A hearty lunch awaits at noon. When the hunt is over relax with your favorite beverage and hors d'ouevers before sitting down to your evening meal that will include Certified Angus steak, Missouri Walleye, or Roasted Pheasant.
After dinner the evening is yours to shoot pool, play shuffleboard, watch TV, or just relax in front of the fire.
River Hills Lodge East
River Hills Lodge has expanded it's operation with the purchase of an 8 bedroom lodge located 1 mile east. Our new River Hills Lodge East offers double occupancy for groups or reserve it exclusively with a single booking of 12 hunters.

Hunting
All of our hunts are fully-guided on private land. We do not mix our hunting parties and an experienced guide will remain with your group for the duration of your hunt. We have a kennel of Labradors that are well-trained and eager to hunt. If you would like to bring your dog, please inform us at the time you secure your reservation. All dog owners are required to present current health papers and dogs MUST be vaccinated for kennel-cough. Your dog will be provided a pen in our heated kennel.
 
We provide transportation in-field to safely accommodate hunters, dogs and equipment. For our guests at River Hills Lodge, the 3-station shooting clay deck is available for additional shooting practice.
Deer Hunts
Our limited deer hunt packages are offered at $4,000. per gun. The 5 night/4 day hunt package includes private room accommodation, field transportation, meals, and fully-guided hunting on over 14,000 acres of private land. Hunters will need to secure their deer license through the SD Game & Fish. They offer a special buck license on West River, non-resident hunting on East River, and archery deer hunting available to all who apply. Please review the handout on Deer Hunting at River Hills Lodge. We also offer a combination mule deer/pheasant hunt package for $5,600/person.
The Trip
If time permits during your hunting trip, we'd love to have you visit River Hills Ranch, our real working ranch that is home to over 1,500 head of registered Angus cattle. The ranch is located on the hills over looking the Missouri River and occupies some of the 14,000 private acres of prime deer and pheasant hunting land.
 
For those hunters lucky enough to win the South Dakota rifle tag lottery to hunt mule deer or white tail, consider booking a hunt with us. You will not be disappointed in the quality of the buck that make their home in the hills and canyons on the ranch property.
Other travel attractions in the area include Cabelas and the world famous Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota or take the scenic ride across the Missouri River to the town of Burke to view the unusual mounts at Pete's Taxidermy.
You may not have time to do everything in 3 days, but there's always next year. You might want to plan to stay a little longer...

* Lodge can be reserved exclusively with single booking of 12 hunters
* Resident managers cook meals and provide guide service with hunting dogs

* Each hunter has a 5 bird daily limit (with option to shoot more)
* We will process, package, and freeze birds
