Known for our signature wild quail hunts, we have been featured in over 20 national magazines, regional newspapers and outdoor publications. We hunt by foot, horseback, or custom quail hunting vehicles. We have over 100,000 acres of prime quail hunting habitat located in the panhandle of Oklahoma and the rolling plains of Texas. This area is often referred to as the last frontier for wild quail hunting.

Quail hunting is not the only opportunity you can experience with Game Management Services. We offer a limited number of trophy deer hunts on the historic Barby Ranch located in the panhandle of western Oklahoma. These exclusive hunts have produced whitetail bucks in the 150 to 180 B&C class range in both the muzzleloader and regular gun season.
If spring turkey is your passion, we invite you to hunt on our 13,000-acre ranch located in the heart of Rio Grande country in Throckmorton County, Texas. This beautiful and remote ranch has over nine miles of winding river bottom that sustains healthy populations of the majestic Rio Grande turkey. We take a very limited number of hunters and only hunt the first 3 weeks of the season. This not only ensures each hunter 100% success, but also provides a very exclusive scenario where each hunter gains full access to all the property under our management.
We offer several packages of dove hunts ranging from a day hunt with family and friends to a fully catered corporate or group hunt on our personal ranch (www.buffalospringslodge.com) located in West Texas. If you are looking for an individual or corporate hunting lease, we have over 80,000 acres of private ranches under our management. Certified-wildlife biologist, John Cox, personally manages all these ranches. Each lease is enrolled in the Texas Parks & Wildlife MLD Level III program, and has a management plan that is designed to sustain maximum wildlife populations and a well-balanced quality deer herd. We also provide land and wildlife management services including, but not limited to brush manipulation, pond and lake construction, roads, waterways, food plots, game fences, stocking, scientific breeder permits, wildlife surveys, written management plans and fish stocking. Our professionalism and dedication has provided us with a tradition of success that we are very proud of. We invite you to come spend time with us in God’s great outdoors and become a part of our large family of satisfied customers and friends.
Quail Hunts
In Texas, our hunting area is located in Howard and Glasscock County, approximately 40 miles southeast of Midland, Texas. We have over 55,000 acres of private land and a newly constructed 5,800 sq. foot lodge that includes 12 private bedrooms with bathrooms, game room, and comfortable sitting and dinning areas.
Our ranches provide some of the best quail habitat in the state. The terrain is gently rolling native rangelands with scattered mesquite and low growing brush. We own some of the land we hunt and extensively manage it to achieve the maximum carrying capacity for bobwhite quail.

The quail season usually runs from the last weekend in October to the last weekend in February. A five-day out of state permit is $75.00. The limit varies from 10 to 15 birds per day per hunter.
In Oklahoma, we hunt on the 50,000 acre historic Barby Ranch. This ranch is located in the panhandle along the Beaver River. The terrain is vast and rolling with sand hills, scattered plum thickets and river bottom. Our two story lodge consist has five double occupancy bedrooms and three bathrooms.
The quail season usually runs from the second weekend in November to February 15. Pheasant season runs the entire month of December. A five-day out of state permit is $100.00 for quail and $125.00 for a pheasant and quail combination. The limit is 10 quail and 3 pheasants per day.
The quail population fluctuates from year to year depending mostly upon spring rains and the severity of winter. For this reason, our hunting grounds are large and diverse. We hunt where the birds are. In years with bumper populations, we will find 30 to 40 coveys a day. In down years, 10 to 15 coveys a day are more likely. Hunter harvest and success data are available on request.

Our hunt package usually is for three days of hunting with a minimum of three hunters. We book parties of three or six and generally hunt in parties of three. Meals, lodging, guides, dogs and field transportation are included. We hunt from foot, truck, or horseback depending upon the hunter's desire.
Lodging
Hunters headed to West Texas can look forward to staying in the new Buffalo Springs Lodge. The lodge was built this last year in a true West Texas style, yet it has all the amenities needed to turn that perfect hunt into a full vacation. The greatroom sports three LCD televisions with satellite, wireless internet, oversized leather furniture, a pool table, a regulation poker table, bar area and dining for 20.
There is a fully furnished state of the art kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. However, guests can also enjoy the outdoor cooking area with a double sized grill and an open fire pit. Seating around the pit makes this the perfect spot to lounge under the big Texas sky after a long day of hunting.
To end the day right, there are twelve bedrooms, each with a large comfortable full size bed. Each bedroom also has its own private bathroom. The rustic feel is finished with custom made furniture imported from Mexico.
Lodging in Oklahoma is a comfortable two-story ranch house located on the Barby Ranch. The lodge has five bedrooms and three bathrooms. Each room sleeps double occupancy with one queen size and one full size bed.
Spring Turkey Hunts
Most of our Spring Turkey hunts are conducted on our 13,000 acre managed ranch located in Throckmorton County, Texas. We intensively manage this ranch by providing a year round feeding program, food plots and setting harvest quotas with limited hunting pressure.

We only hunt the first three weeks of the season. We do this to assure that we do not over harvest and to allow the turkey’s ample time to nest and raise their broods without disturbance.
The terrain is rolling hills with over nine miles of winding river bottom consisting of multiple roosting areas. Our normal hunt package consists of six hunters for three days of hunting, includes meals, lodging, and is semi-guided.
We also offer a limited number of unguided hunts with out meals and lodging on various properties under our management. These hunts are offered in the Cross Timbers and Rolling Plains of Texas and North West Oklahoma along the Beaver River.
Our Lodge sleeps eight people comfortably, and includes a large outside porch, outdoor fire place, walk in freezer and an outdoor game cleaning facility.
