Thank you for your interest in the Richards Ranch, North Texas’s premier wingshooting destination located just over an hour northwest of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
Whether it’s trophy whitetail deer, wild hog, Rio Grande turkey, bobwhite quail, ringneck pheasant, chukar, dove or our many species of wild duck, our all-inclusive hunt packages offer a spectacular Texas hunting experience accentuated by first-class accommodations, a friendly staff and delicious, homemade cuisine.
No matter if it’s a family hunt, a weekend with old friends or a corporate gathering with clients and staff, the Richards Ranch – one of the few remaining Texas Century Ranch sites in the state – provides a warm, relaxing atmosphere where the Lone Star hunting tradition lives on, and lifelong memories are made. Accommodations

The main lodge – built near our family's original 1865 homestead site – includes four well-appointed bedrooms (with sleeping accommodations for up to ten people), along with adjoining, private bathrooms and a spacious dining room. Our Great Room features satellite TV, wi-fi, wet bar and fireplace, providing theperfect setting to sip cocktails, watch the game and swap hunting stories. For family or corporate groups, we also offer seven fully-equipped, private cabins, clay target range and a roomy indoor/outdoor pavilion, all just steps away from the lodge.
 
Our food has received consistently excellent ratings from our guests and prominent outdoor journalists alike, and will most certainly be one of the highlights of your stay. Most everything our chef serves is prepared fresh from scratch, including delicious appetizers, salads, main courses and desserts. No one goes away hungry from our table!
In the evenings, you'll relax on our outdoor patio, replete with fireplace, comfortable rockers, a terrific view of the rolling plains and one of our many fishing lakes – an ideal spot for taking in the colorful Texas sunset and unwinding after a long, successful day in the field.
Wingshooting

Seasoned upland hunters know that the overall quality of any wingshooting lodge is only as good as the quality of the birds. That’s why we’ve spent so much time and effort perfecting the genetic traits of our quail, pheasant and chukar. To ensure superior flying instinct and agility, our birds are raised in large flight pens, receive the most nutritious feed available and have minimal human contact. Because of this meticulous process, we can proudly stake claim to providing our guests with a truly authentic and challenging upland hunting experience.
In addition to outstanding upland hunting, we also offer some of Texas’s finest dove and waterfowl hunting on more than 15,000 acres of pastures, crop fields, ponds and water holes (with customized combo packages available upon request). All hunts include ground transportation to the fields, expert guides, dogs, drinks, snacks and bird processing/packaging.
At the Richards Ranch, we take great pride in providing our hunting guests with the most reliable and well-trained hunting dogs to be found anywhere in the United States. Our dogs – from our pointers, setters and German shorthairs to our Labradors – are personally raised and trained under the veteran eye of our nationally-renowned guides and trainers, ensuring their strong work ethic, solid temperament and uncompromising steadiness to flush. At Richards Ranch, our goal is to provide our guests with the opportunity to experience the whitetail hunt of a lifetime, combining traditional Texas comfort and hospitality with the latest, most modern game management techniques. All of our deer are free-ranging and truly wild (no high fences here!), giving you the thrill and challenge of an authentic, fair chase hunt over 15,000 rugged, beautiful acres.
Since we began our deer operation in 1998, the ranch as consistently produced trophy bucks in the 140-160 B&C class, harvested mainly over food plots and feeders from box blinds, covered ground blinds and 4-wheel drive vehicles. We offer both rifle and bow hunts, as well as a wide variety of custom-tailored hog/varmint combo, parent/child, and corporate group packages.

The Richards Ranch is not only home to a large population of trophy whitetails, but substantial numbers of massive Black Russian and feral hogs as well. Ranked among the smartest, toughest animals in North America, these brutes offer one of the most challenging and exciting hunts at the ranch – and one of the most affordable.
Our fully-guided hog hunts normally take place during the early morning and evening hours, when the animals are most active. Methods include hunting with dogs, spot & stalk, and still-hunting over feeders and food plots. Trophy animals in excess of 300 pounds are not uncommon. What’s more, our hunt packages have absolutely no bag limits, so you can harvest as many hogs (and varmints) as you’d like!
